AWESOME! thank you so much! i notice it is called "sharpening for web." does that mean its not the best option for prints? it looks like it would be great for that, too.

best print sharpening method is
-calculating the longest side x 1,66666
-resize to this size
-apply the filter sharpen 3 times
-resize back to the original size
sounds a bit weird?
here is an example:
-my 450D outputs 4272 x 2848 px
-> 4272 x 1,666666 = ~ 7119,99997152 -> 7120 px
-resize to 7120 x 4747 px
-filter>sharpening>sharpen (yes, the simple one) 3 times, image will look oversharpened
-resize back to 4272 x 2848 px
print huuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuge
